About The Society Of St. Vincent De Paul
SSVP Singapore Today
With the formation of the SSVP Conference at the parish of Saints Peter & Paul on 8 December 1951, SSVP Singapore has evolved over the years to its contemporary presence in 31 Outreach Centres including Conferences and 2 Community Services Offices nationwide.
SSVP Singapore comprises more than 750 Members (known as Vincentians) serving in the 29 Conferences (each of which is a unit of SSVP Singapore, and each serving a Catholic church parish) all across the island.
All the Conferences are part of the National Council of Singapore. Members elect a National Council President for a four-year term, with a possible extension of another two-year/four-year second term through a further election, respectively. Conference Presidents and Treasurers, on the other hand, are elected for a two-year term and can be re-elected for a further two years.
SSVP Singapore helps as many as 2,300 (and counting) families/households in need, caring for over 3,300 FINs island-wide.
