In 2017, SSVP received a significant bequest from the estate of an anonymous donor. With this the Society acquired a building at 501 Geylang Road, renovated it and set up SSVP Shop, a social enterprise project, on the ground floor.
The shop and the building, named SSVP House, was blessed by Fr Eugene Vaz and inaugurated by Minister for Social and Family Development, Mr Desmond Lee, on 21 September, 2019.
The shop sells mainly pre-loved items, including clothing, household items, accessories and novelties, at very affordable prices. Its day-to-day operations (from Tuesday to Sunday) are managed by a pool of volunteers along with a full-time staff supervisor. A Shop Committee, comprising Vincentians, oversees the overall management. The pool of volunteers, which includes Vincentians and volunteers, has been growing steadily. All volunteers undergo an orientation session that promotes the values of SSVP – of love, hope, respect and dignity – in all our dealings with our external and internal customers.
The shop is closed on Mondays. On Sundays, the operations of the shop are helmed by members of SSVP Conferences on a rotational basis.
As a Charity Shop or Thrift Shop, the items on sale at the shop are mainly from collection drives done by Vincentians at various Catholic churches. People also donate valuable items after making an appointment with the shop management. Every item you donate and what you spend at the shop will go towards helping the poor.

What can I donate?
If you have pre-loved items that are new or in good saleable condition, we will be happy to receive your donation(s). We generally accept:
- apparel items for men, women and children (not accepting till further notice)
- fashion accessories (handbags, sunglasses, watches, jewellery, etc)
- children’s toys (not accepting till further notice)
- electrical items (handphones, notebooks, etc.)
- handicraft items
- kitchenware and household appliances
- musical instruments
Due to space constraints, we are able to accept two shopping bags of donated items per drop off.
We are unable to accept bulky items such as furniture. We do not accept shoes, books, CDs, VCDs, DVDs or Blue-ray discs, or any soiled, broken and faulty items.
As a rule of thumb, if you would give the item to a friend or buy it yourself, then the item should be good as a donation to the SSVP Shop.
How/Where can I drop off my donations?
